Valais Blacknose Corespun Chunky Yarn
This is some of the first Valais Blacknose cross wool that we have had processed into corespun yarn.
Corespun yarn is created by twisting the carded wool fibers around an added core material.
In this yarn the core is a strong resilient jute, which you can see in the pictures.
The wool fibers used to create this yarn are from our Valais Blacknose/Scottish Blackface ewes so it is a bit course in texture. A light felting would tighten and enhance the surface greatly.
Its perfect for rugmaking, basketmaking, felting...any application that used a strong fiber. I think this would make great rugs or on the more creative side...super cool dreads.
Each coiled bump contains 100 yards of yarn and weighs roughly 1 pound 14 ounces to 2 pounds.
